Fall Detection Approaches for Monitoring Elderly HealthCare Using Kinect Technology: A Survey

The severity of falls increases with age and reduced mobility. Falls are a frequent source domestic accidents accidental death on the part fragile people. They produce anatomical injuries, reduce quality life, cause dramatic psychological effects, impose heavy financial burdens. A growing elderly population leads to direct increase in health service costs, indirectly deterioration social life long term. Unsurprisingly, socioeconomic costs have triggered new scientific research detect older One most appropriate solutions for monitoring automatically detecting is computer vision. Kinect camera plays vital role recognizing activities while ensuring seniors’ comfort, safety, privacy preferences fall detection system. This surveys several Kinect-based works literature that cover approaches used detection. In addition, we discuss public benchmark based technology. general, main objective this survey provide complete description modules making up detectors thereby guide researchers developing Kinect.
